‘The Sword Of Freedom’ by Helen Glavin

I’ll be playing guitar in a new work for male voice choir by Helen Glavin called ‘The Sword Of Freedom’, commemorating the 750th anniversary of the Battle Of Lewes. According to a sussexpast.co.uk…

“The Battle of Lewes, won by Simon de Montfort on May 14,1264, was part of an English civil war aimed at getting better, fairer government.  After his victory over King Henry III, de Montfort set about calling Britain’s first ever representative parliament.”

UK premiere will take place today at Lewes Town Hall, 7.30pm. The piece will be premiered simultaneously in Lewes, Delaware, USA, so you can decide which one to attend.
