The Importance Of Symmetry
Instrumentation – steel-string guitar
Duration – c.20′

A suite of four movements. None of these works ended up being performed or recorded (along with a substantial volume of other works from between 2007 to 2011, which to this day remain unfinished due to my gradually moving away from performance and more exclusively towards composition). Originally composed for the guitar, and at times stretching beyond the realistic capabilities of the instrument (an omen of my need to begin exploring fresh instrumentation), movements from this suite took various incarnations: solo piano pieces, tuned percussion duos, etc. The second movement of this suite found a final, alternate manifestation as ‘Echo Chamber’, a work for flute and string quartet.
