A setting of a poem by the same name by Gunes Omer. The music was inspired by the vocal folk traditions of Sardinia. This piece is a setting I made of the words of poet, mystic and friend Gunes Omer. For me the poem brings to life a very vivid and magical world, in which the shepherds of a strange land sing proudly of their way of life, in their own native folk style. This image in turn brought me to reflect on the singing tradition of Sardinian shepherds, a bold and gutteral form in which you can hear distinctly the sounds of the flock which they are daily surrounded by.
